A great company

Great guys! They helped me immediately when my motorhome was not able to shut the diesel engine down because I spilled soda on my dash and caused an electrical fail. Thanks guys!

I can’t recommend these gentlemen highly enough. I travel weekly between Tacoma and my home in Vancouver. During my last trip home a warning light came on telling me to “CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM” immediately after my cruise control kicked off during acceleration. The car drove fine, no other lights came on, temperature stayed low and I could detect no weird sounds, smells, or any difference in the handling at all. I drove directly to the Lexus dealership in Portland where after a few hours of waiting around, I was given an estimate of $2k “for starters” because they weren’t exactly sure what was wrong with my car, but the warning light indicated that the oil pump in the transmission needed to be replaced. Of course, Lexus didn’t want to honor their own warranty which covers my hybrid system to 100k miles - and my current miles are 96k. If it was an issue with the hybrid transmission it should be covered, right? Yeah... Irritated and remembering the last time I took my car in there when it was pulling to the right and they wanted $3100 to fix a control arm they said was bent (it wasn’t - just needed an alignment) I started looking for a repair shop on my side of the river. I googled ‘Lexus repair Vancouver WA’ and Pegoraro popped up. I thought Hmm... Italian name, maybe they know foreign cars, and gave them a call. From the start of this process, they were totally kind, answered all of my questions, and listened to me instead of dismissing me like the other guys had. I just felt that it wasn’t a transmission issue but that the warning light had something to do with my going 90mph in cruise. They had an estimate to me by the end of the day: the inverter coolant pump was faulty and replacement would be less than $800. They even loaned me a car at no charge. Given that there was also some general maintenance stuff to do, I asked them to do that too. My total bill for the repair, the maintenance stuff and diagnostics was less than $1500 so they saved me at least $500, I got a bunch of stuff that needed to be done done, my car drives better than it did before all this and I didn’t have to drive over to Portland to do it. I feel LUCKY and happy to have found a trustworthy, transparent, very clean, super convenient repair shop run by REALLY nice humans. I’ll never go anywhere else plus I like keeping my hard-earned dollars local. I highly recommend Pegoraro Auto Repair to anyone who’s ever felt intimidated, vulnerable or irritated during the car repair process - you don’t have to know all about cars. This is a really new van with 61k miles. Of course my warranty is 60k miles. They was nice and called a tow truck for me. Van arrived about 45 minutes later just before 5 p.m. I told them it was crucial to get it done as fast as possible. They called around and the only place that could rebuild my transmission fast was up in Seattle. They pulled my transmission out that night and the owner drove the transmission to Seattle at 4 in the morning on Thursday. They picked my transmission up from Seattle Monday morning and put two guys on the job and I received my van back Monday afternoon. This was a 3 day turnaround because you can't count the weekend. They way above and beyond to get me working again. I can't tell you how much I appreciated there hard work.
